DTV transition
The transition from analog to digital TV happened on June 12, 2009. This transition means that television stations throughout the US are now broadcasting only in digital; if you were receiving free television with outdoor or "rabbit ear" antennas, you will need to purchase either a TV with a digital tuner or a digital-to-analog converter box.
All US households have been permitted to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to use toward the purchase of up to two digital-to-analog converter boxes. Find out more at www.DTV2009.gov.
