Sept. 15, 2005 — The Worship Network will support national relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as a broadcast partner for a benefit concert next week. 

Thursday, Sept. 22, the Gospel/Christian music industry will unite for Gospel Angels: A Concert to Restore Hope, benefiting the Katrina relief efforts of World Vision and Feed the Children.  Grammy award winning artist CeCe Winans will host this national event which will be staged in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park and broadcast nationwide, including on The Worship Network.

A joint effort of the Gospel Music Channel™ and the Gospel Music Association’s Project Restore,
Gospel Angels: A Concert to Restore Hope, in association with veteran promoter Peter Conlon, will be broadcast on The Worship Network as well as on The Gospel Music Channel, Paxson Communications Corporation’s i (formerly PAX TV) and XM Radio.

The Worship Network will broadcast the Gospel Angels concert via live streaming at www.worship.net and on its television channel on Thursday, September 22nd from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET.   The Worship Network will then re-broadcast the concert event repeatedly over the following 24 hours -- Thursday, September 22nd from 11 p.m. -1 a.m. ET; Friday, September 23rd from 2 a.m. – 4 a.m. ET; Friday, September 23rd from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. ET and Friday, September 23rd from Noon-2 p.m. ET.

“Through this concert we are raising our voices collectively to offer a unified message of hope and a helping hand to people overwhelmed by the loss and sorrow caused by Katrina,” said Grammy winner CeCe Winans, who will host the all-star event. Other artists performing live from Atlanta include Nicole C. Mullen, Israel & New Breed, Blind Boys of Alabama, Natalie Grant, NewSong, BarlowGirl, George Huff and Aaron Shust.  Special messages and performances from other artists, including Grammy-winning rock band, Third Day, will be included in Gospel Angels: A Concert to Restore Hope.
