Classical Worship - Bach

Mozart studied his work. Beethoven called him the “original father of harmony.” And although many musicians of the time deemed his complex music old fashioned, today Johann Sebastian Bach is considered one of the greatest musicians who ever lived.

In his work, Bach weaved together intersecting melodies and counterpoint harmonies, creating a distinctive sound whether the instrument was organ, cello, or the human voice.

He also expressed his close relationship with God through the music he wrote, often working as a musical director for local churches and crafting some of his greatest pieces for use in worship. In addition, he served as a devoted father and dedicated teacher.

Like his music, Bach’s life found beauty in many melodies. Like his life, his music brings glory to God.
