Worship Is....Taking the "bite" out of malaria

More than a million people die from malaria each year, and millions more become sick. The disease is especially prevalent in the developing world, where standing water and homes without screened windows and doors attract the Anopheles mosquito.

However, malaria is preventable, and one easy way to ward off the disease is insecticide-soaked mosquite nets. These nets, draped around beds, easily protect the people sleeping inside. Some reports say these bed nets can reduce childhood malaria deaths by a third!

Each net costs just $10 each and can protect a bed for four years. "We use the gifts of the bed nets to focus peoples’ attention on God’s love and how He values each life," writes Christian Missionary Fellowship, the organization coordinating the program. "Lives saved from the consquences of malaria help people to listen to the truth and understand what that means in a most personal way. Unbelievers come to believe, and Christians are strengthened in their walk with Christ. You can partner with us in this simple way of saving lives for today and for eternity."
