Since 1987, volunteers in Minneapolis, MN have built friendships, coordinated events, and provided community housing opportunities for hundreds of at-risk kids. The non-profit ministry Source reaches the "wounded, anti-mainstream, post-moderns, artists, homeless youths, urban poor, rainbow kids, and music scenesters" with music and art shows, meals, discussion groups, Bible studies, and alternative worship experiences.
The organization's "Fallout Arts Initiative" also nurtures creativity within the group by providing space for dance, theater, visual arts, music and design studios. Transitional housing helps teens find safe living environments with healthy relationships, and the Urban Ministry Initiative has trained more than 1200 people to continue Source's effectiveness in other areas.
